Bengaluru: A Pondicherry-based small-time architect was arrested by the Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) police for allegedly harassing a woman, demanding sexual favours from her. The police identified the accused as Niranjan.
It was revealed that the accused had completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture and was seeking job opportunities while staying at a PG near the victim’s residence in south-east Bengaluru. As per the complaint filed by the victim, the accused initially tried to befriend her.
However, when she rejected his advances, the victim allegedly jumped onto her apartment balcony and took her private pictures through which he later started blackmailing her. Taking up the matter seriously, the cops laid a trap to nab the accused.
Sources from the SouthEast CEN police told News Trail that the cops found more than twenty private pictures of women saved in his mobile phone. Further investigation is on to detect if the accused is involved in more such cases.
