Passengers can provide digital ID: BMTC

NT Correspondent

Bengaluru: Commuters of BMTC have long been confused regarding verification of their passes with the help of an identification card. After a recent scuffle between a passenger and on-duty staff over the same issue, the BMTC has clarified the issue.

“It has been informed that while the on-duty driving personnel are verifying digital passes, the identity card entered in the pass by a public passenger is to be manually verified and validated. Henceforth, public passengers shall present the original copy of the photo ID card entered in the digital pass or the current ID card in digital format for verification by the on-duty driving staff:” a press release from the corporation states.

Now, passengers can provide a copy of their identification card digitally for verification purposes. Commuters need not carry physical copies of the IDs anymore.
