A tribute to The Strokes by Different Folks

Bengaluru: One of the main draws at the much awaited Lollapalooza are The Strokes, who will be playing in India for the first time. The announcement had the fans divided with some saying just one band wasn’t enough to justify going while others were disappointed they will miss one of the favourite bands performing here for the first time.

For the latter, Hard Rock Cafe had an easy fix with Different Folks playing all of the band's greatest hits. The line up consisted of Anant Sharma on Vocals, Kaushik Shekar on Guitars, Prabhat G on Guitars, Kaushik Kumar on Bass and John Melvin on Drums playing the classics like Is This It, Modern Age and Hard to Explain.

Despite the rain, the fans of the band showed up in large numbers so as not to miss the chance to catch these songs live. “We had a whole lot of people singing along to the songs and many told me after the gig that they were disappointed they couldn’t get tickets to Lolla and were glad they could watch us here,” said Anant Sharma, speaking to News Trail.

The band who is playing a three gig tour has been rehearsing since mid-November for the gig. After the gig, they are off to play another show in Kolkata next.
