Bengaluru: City-based taxis and their operators have been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons. In a fresh allegation, a private firm employee has claimed harassment from an autorickshaw driver. The victim, sharing her tale of woe on a social media platform, tagged Rapido along with the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and other forums for women’s safety concerns.
The victim alleged that she had booked an autorickshaw ride around 8 p.m. from CV Raman Nagar to her destination. After reaching her destination, she said to have paid the fare through a mobile application, following which the driver turned furious and demanded cash from her.
Further, she claimed that the driver started abusing her and even stepped up to hit her when she admitted to not having cash. Somehow she had managed to get away from him and enter her society gate, she said. The ride details she shared on the post identified the driver as Harish SN.
The Rapido Support, replied to her post by apologising for the inconvenience while also agreeing to her concerns. The firm also assured a quick inspection of the matter
