100 kg of sandalwood logs seized

Bengaluru: Banaswadi police arrested a person allegedly involved in sandalwood smuggling and seized around 100 kg of sandalwood logs, which he was found to be transporting in his car. The accused was identified as Abhilash, a resident of Ramanagar district.

The arrest was made after the police received a tip-off from their sources regarding a person allegedly transporting a huge number of sandalwood logs in his car. The value of the seized sandalwood was estimated to be around Rs 15 lakh, the police said.

Arresting Abhilash, the police also seized his car along with the sandalwood. An inquiry has been initiated to find the location from which he had been smuggling the sandalwood.
