‘BJP govt leaving us with no choice but to fight for what is right’

Bengaluru: The Central Paramilitary Forces Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association held a protest against the government on Tuesday at Freedom Park about the lack of reservations and restoration of the old pension scheme.
According to the association, ex-servicemen from all across the country, including Kashmir, Delhi, and other parts, participated in the protest in the city. The association comprises the Central Para-Military Forces, including the Assam Rifles, the Indo-Tibetan Border Security Force, the Central Reserve Police Force, the Central Industrial Security Force, and the Border Security Source (BSF) (AR).
Since 2014, these organisations have made many requests to the government on behalf of the state’s veterans who have retired from duty and the families of martyrs. “Even though our delegation met with the government on July 14, 2022, and requested that they implement our fair constitutional demands as soon as possible, there’s no development on it,” said an ex-serviceman who was part of the protest.
“The retired ex-servicemen and the families of the martyred soldiers of this state are not receiving constitutional facilities. We are upset that the government is doing nothing while leaving us with no choice but to fight for what is right,” said another ex-serviceman.
