As both were shifted to a private hospital for treatment, the city police formed four special teams and initially tracked down three accused and nabbed them from Hoskote. Cases under the Arms Act and attempted murder under Section 307 of the IPC had been registered by the police.

“So far, five accused have been arrested in the case,” an officer from KR Puram police station told News Trail. A forensics team retrieved the cartridges from the spot and concluded that the bullets were shot from a country-made (Desi) pistol. It is revealed now that the accused people absconded to Madanapalle after failing to execute Shiva and hid the pistol at a farmhouse around 40 km from the city.
