Bengaluru: With the fresh spike in Covid-19 cases in various countries, including India, a school association has directed private schools under its jurisdiction to enforce Covid restrictions strictly, beginning Saturday.

The Recognised Unaided Private Schools Association (RUPSA), after holding a meeting with its member organisations, decided that schools must enforce strict Covid protocols as a precaution in order to be prepared in case of another wave of the virus. Students and teachers will now have to follow Covid protocols.

RUPSA is the second organisation in the city to have issued guidelines for private schools. Guidelines issued by RUPSA to its member schools mandates wearing of face masks for students attending classes.

The parents have been directed to inform the school if they observe cold, cough or other signs of fever in their children. The schools were informed to provide leave to those showing symptoms of the virus. The staff and other workers at schools have been directed to wear a face mask and receive their booster dose if they are eligible, mandatorily.

The students will have to go through a periodic temperature check and will be made to follow the norms of social distancing. The staffs have been also given the responsibility to ensure the students do not share food or water as part of the fresh Covid guidelines.
