Bengaluru: The Pulakeshinagar police have arrested four men on charges of stabbing a notorious rowdy sheeter in front of his wife, over an old rivalry. The arrested have been identified as Mohinuddin, Arbaaz, Adnan and Arafath.
They had allegedly stabbed rowdy sheeter Mansoor alias Dhoon of Shivajinagar. Mansoor is undergoing treatment in a local hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
“There are over 20 cases registered against Mansoor at various police stations in the city. In a murder case registered against him in Hennur police limits, the court had convicted him to undergo life imprisonment. However, he was released from jail after serving 10 years of imprisonment as the court quashed the case registered against him. During the month of Ramadhan, the victim is alleged to have assaulted Mohinuddin over a trivial issue,” said an officer on part of investigations.
On November 27, the victim had left his bike for servicing at a garage in Shivajinagar , and Mohinuddin was working in the same outlet. After seeing the victim, the accused hatched a plot to murder him.
While the victim was going with his wife on the bike, the accused attacked him and escaped. The victim then filed a complaint with the police who had taken up a case of attempt to murder under section307 of the Indian Penal Code.
“When the victim was released from the jail, the police had warned him against indulging in unlawful activities. Now there has been an attack on him and the accused have claimed that he was the one who started it. With these activities, we will keep a vigil on him,” the officer added.
Further investigations are on.
