Bengaluru: The police have arrested at least four persons in connection with several House Breakin Theft (HBT) cases in the city. Vinay Prasad, 23, a resident of Chandapura; Shaikh Salman, 26, from Nayandahalli; Lohit, 37, a resident of Chikkabanavara; and Ismail, 33, a resident of Gangondanahalli, were arrested by the Konanakunte police station in the city.
The police claimed to have recovered valuables worth 15.95 lakh, including 216 grams of gold, 3019.28 grams of silver ornaments, a television, four branded wrist watches, and a car from their possession. The cops launched a probe to arrest the accused based on a complaint filed by a resident regarding a house break-in incident.
The incident claimed to have occurred on November 14, when the complainant was away with his family for three days. When the family returned on November 17, they found the lock on the main door of their house broken and most of the valuables had gone missing from home.
Speaking to News Trail, an officer from the Konanakunte police station said that the accused persons sensed the absence of the family as they noticed newspapers lying at the main door for two-three days and decided to rob the house.
