Bengaluru: The city witnessed a horrific serial accident on Tuesday near Indiranagar 80 feet main road which left one person dead after he was crushed in his own car, and six others injured, of whom two are critical.

The deceased was identified as Hari Mahanth, a resident of Assam, who was in a Maruti Alto parked on the roadside when a speeding Mercedes smashed into him from behind sending the Alto crashing into a mini truck parked a little away. The impact was such that Hari was crushed between the two vehicles.

Mahendra, an eye-witness, said the Mercedes was moving at high speed. “Before hitting the Alto, it collided with a two-wheeler and an autorickshaw damaging both vehicles and injuring the drivers,” he said.

Traffic police from Indiranagar and Halasuru rushed to the spot to clear the bottlenecks.

Registration details of the Mercedes show it belongs to Nandita Chaudhary but was driven by a young man, the police said. A case was booked against the Mercedes driver.
