Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar has disclosed that he would be joining former All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi for the final leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) this coming Sunday.
The yatra would be concluding this coming Monday in Srinagar, Kashmir. It had begun in Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7.
Gandhi has covered nearly the entirety of the length of the country, hitting states where Congress’ electoral prospects are promising. This included the BJY’s Karnataka leg, which Shivakumar helped oversee as the party’s state president.
The Kanakapura MLA had also accompanied Rahul at the start of the yatra. Moreover, Congress is postponing one of its other programmes, the ‘Praja Dhwani Yatra’ in Ramanagara, which was due on Friday. Shivakumar said that they could get back to Ramanagara in the near future because it was close to Bengaluru.
