Bengaluru: University management is going to conduct surprise checks on students in terms of the authenticity of the exams given and assignments submitted.
Aiding tools like ChatGPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer) which is an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that helps students with exams, lab practical, and assignments have been prohibited for use on the Bengaluru University campus. Tools like GitHub, Co-pilot and Black Box have also been banned at educational institutions. Bengaluru’s Rashtriya Vidyalaya and affiliated colleges have banned the use of the tools.
According to an official associated with RV College Bengaluru, the ban on these aiding tools has been implemented and students are subject to surprise checks and will be asked to redo the assignment or exams if the faculty or management raises any question of authenticity, or is not convinced by the performance of the student.
The faculty and management of these educational institutions have noticed that this promotes cheating and gives the student a short cut way to secure percentage marks, which stands against the ethics of educational institutions across the city
