BMTC bus driver seeks MD's suspension over 'corruption'
NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: Amid reports of corruption charges against the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) a bus has accused the managing director of doing precious little to weed out corruption from the organisation.
The said driver in a letter to the Karnataka Governor requested him to suspend the Managing Director of the BMTC, Sathyavathi G, alleging that the IAS officer had not taken any action towards corrupt officials in the department despite complaints from the staff.
In the letter, the BMTC bus driver alleged that he had been harassed by his senior officials. A copy of the letter was sent to the Principal secretary of the Transport Department and the Labour Department Commissioner.
While the BMTC has been in the trouble for quite some time, fresh allegations regarding corruption surfaced after a bus driver attempted suicide on Friday accusing several officials of Rajarajeshwari Nagar bus depot of harassing him.
