Bengaluru: Preparations are underway for the third dose of the vaccine (the booster dose), to be given to frontline workers in hospitals across the state. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has recommended booster doses for healthcare workers to the party high-command in Delhi, according to a source from the Clinical Expert Committee (CEC), which met in the city two days ago to discuss Omicron. The state government will issue guidelines in a day or two. “The third dose will protect doctors and other medical staff from being infected,” said a committee member. The government hopes to borrow vaccines from other places to ensure that there is adequate supply.
