BMTC MD to clarify on suspension of driver
Bengaluru, NT: The Transport department secretary has sought clarification on the recent suspension of a driver, Tygaraj, by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Managing Director Satyavathi.
The secretary has written to the MD twice in only a span of one week. He had earlier suggested that the MD consider the bus driver’s complaints. Tyagaraj had complained to Managing Director G Satyavathi, making allegations over many issues in the corporation along with relevant documents.
Despite this, an investigation to look into the issues was not initiated and in turn, a notice was issued to the driver. He then wrote about the ordeal in a letter to Transport Secretary Dr NV Srinivas and Labour Commissioner Akram Pasha, besides the governor. Following the developments, the BMTC placed him under suspension.
