Bengaluru: Praises have been pouring in for the city police after a Hoysala team saved the life of a woman who allegedly attempted suicide by consuming a disinfectant at her house in Pulekeshi Nagar Police Station limits here.

The incident took place on February 26 when the woman, supposedly suffering depression due to family issues, allegedly consumed disinfectant at her residence. Sources narrated to News Trail that the woman was alone when she took the extreme step. However, after a few minutes and because she was unable to bear the pain, she began screaming, which alerted the neighbours, who rushed to help her.

As the main door of her house was bolted from inside, they could not enter it and called the police control room. A Hoysala team on patrol duty in the area picked up the alert and reached the spot in five minutes. The policemen broke open the door and rescued the woman by shifting her to a hospital in time.

On Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru East, Bheemashankar S Guled, complimented the Hoysala team consisting of an inspector, an assistant sub-inspector and a head constable with a letter of appreciation for the “commendable job”.
