'Multi-storied complex on Muzrai land instead of children hostel'

Bengaluru: A social activist in the city has claimed that a property in Nagarathpet belonging to the Muzrai department has been sold with the help of fake documents.
Ravi Kumar, a social activist has said that the property was originally donated by Ammanamma to a government school for the purpose of building a children's hostel and fell under the Muzrai department in the year 1942.
However, at present, an eight-storied building has been constructed on the donated land, he alleged. Kumar has claimed that this has been made possible with the issuing of fake documents. He has lodged several complaints with the Muzrai department as well as the BBMP with relevant evidence. He has, however, not received a suitable response, so far.
“The property lies on Makkala BasavanaGudi Road in Nagarathpet and was originally donated to the school. I have been bringing up the issue since 2014 with several authorities – the commissioner, the DC, the tahsildar and others but have not received a positive response," the social activist said.
"I have received information that a person not originally from Karnataka has built the eight-storied building by procuring fake documents and have also informed the Muzrai department regarding the issue. While they have visited the property on a number of occasions, precious little has been done to address the issue,” Ravi Kumar said.
