Bengaluru: Awoman was reportedly killed by an auto driver with whom she allegedly had an affair in the Marenahalli area of the city.

The incident took place on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Saraguna, 35, a resident of Kurubarahalli. She allegedly had an affair with Ganesh, 22. Both are said to be natives of Tamil Nadu. According to sources, Saraguna was working as a domestic help and had helped Ganesh in obtaining a house on rent by lending him Rs 50,000 a few months ago.

After they broke up, Saraguna had been demanding that Ganesh return the money that she had given him. On Wednesday, Saraguna went to Ganesh’s house and asked him to return the money in a bid to blackmail him. After a brief altercation, Ganesh, unable to pay the money, tied a rope to the ceiling and threatened to commit suicide.

However, Saraguna allegedly snatched the rope from his hand saying she was fed up with his behaviour and wanted to die. In a fit of rage following more heated words, Ganesh strangled her with the same rope.  Realising she was dead, the accused took her to KC General Hospital alleging that Saraguna had committed suicide. The facts were revealed after the police initiated an inspection at Ganesh's house.
