Couple finds 'missing' child sleeping at home

Bengaluru: In a bizarre incident, based on a complaint filed by the parents of a six-year-old girl here, the police launched a manhunt for the child thinking that she had been kidnapped, only to find her asleep at home next to a pile of clothes.

Meena, a resident of Janata Colony in KR Puram, suddenly believed that her daughter had gone missing and rushed to the KR Puram Police Station along with her husband around 7.30 pm on Thursday, with a complaint that their daughter had been “kidnapped”.

The police and the child’s parents then searched the locality and adjoining areas for the child. When they failed to locate her, they returned to the house dejected. That is when they found the child sleeping on a bed next to a pile of clothes, which the two parents had not noticed.
