City commuters get caught in traffic jam in ORR

Bengaluru: Commuters on their way to work had a harrowing time on Tuesday morning as the traffic on Iblur junction came to a standstill for hours after a truck crashed into a tree on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in the city.
Due to the morning rush, a massive traffic jam was witnessed on Bengaluru's tech corridor which led to a blockage from all sides of the roads causing delays to the officegoers. According to sources, many techies were forced to return home after being stuck in the long queue. However the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) deployed several officers who managed to remove the damaged truck from the road with the help of cranes and JCBs.
Later the vehicular traffic was also cleared. "Any mismanagement would have led to untoward consequences. Two cranes, two JCBs and two towing vehicles were deployed, "Sujeetha Salman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic South Division, said in a tweet later in the day.
Thetechies and other commuters who either missed their workday or showed up late at their office, took to twitter and shared their experience of getting stuck at the unusually lengthy traffic cong estion. "More than 1.5 hrs stuck in traffic at HSR. Half-day in traffic. All IT employees attending meetings from Bus and Bike," a user tweeted sharing an image of an employee working on her laptop riding pillion on a bike.
