Gruha Jyothi: We'll be back soon... hopefully with working servers!

Bengaluru: On the inaugural day of Gruha Jyothi, the free electricity initiative by the Congress government, registrations were impeded by technical issues. Numerous individuals encountered difficulties in accessing the government website, Seva Sindhu, which resulted in hindrances for potential registrants.

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) issued a statement revealing that, despite the obstacles faced, a remarkable 55,000 consumers from across the state successfully registered for the scheme on the opening day. Several users shared their fruition on Twitter stating that the website is crashing. While some complained that the website is not responding after entering the necessary details, others said that they are not even able to open the website.

Responding to these complaints, Bescom responded stating, “Due to several consumers trying to apply for Gruha Jyothi Scheme Servers are down, we already informed the concerned department to resolve the issue ASAP. Inconvenience regretted.” After day 1, Bescom posted stating, “On the very first day, Grugha Jyothi Scheme received 55,000 registrations!” and added the link to register. When News Trail tried to access the link to register, the main webpage of the website was not opening.

The webpage stated, “We’ll be back soon! Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. We’ll be back online, shortly!” After over 12 hours of the website crashing and facing issues, one Twitter user commented on the tweet stating, “First fix the website and server it's very cheap not able to upload name and other data very worst from yesterday 3 pm when it started till now not fixed pathetic Bescom and Escom”
