Woman alleges drug addicted son-in-law killed daughter

The mother of Nandini (24), who passed away under suspicious circumstances, has lodged a complaint with the police, accusing her “drug-addicted” son-in-law Gautam of torturing and murdering her daughter.

Gautam, a resident of Hennuru Sonnappa Layout, and Nandini, from Guddahalli, had fallen in love and married. They have two children.

Nandini's lifeless body was discovered hanging on April 6. Expressing grief for her daughter's demise, Nandini's mother revealed, "Nandini was my only daughter. I faced numerous hardships while raising her. Five years ago, she fell in love with Gautam and they got married. However, a few months into the marriage, Gautam began coming home intoxicated and physically abusing Nandini. His drug addiction took a toll on their relationship, and Nandini had confided in me multiple times about her husband's torment."

On April 6, Gautam phoned and informed me that Nandini had hanged herself and they were rushing her to hospital, the mother stated. When we arrived at the hospital, we discovered that our daughter had tragically passed away.

The mother further alleged that Gautam had an illicit affair with another woman and constantly accused Nandini of deceit, subjecting her to relentless torment. She suspects that Gautam is the one responsible for their daughter's death, staging it to appear as suicide.

The mother expressed her dissatisfaction with the police investigation, claiming that they have not properly pursued the murder angle despite visible marks on her daughter's neck. She revealed that her daughter had previously approached the police with a domestic dispute complaint.
