Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has introduced a ban on playing music through loudspeakers inside metro trains, aiming to prevent inconvenience and annoyance to passengers. An official notice has been issued by the BMRCL, urging passengers to refrain from broadcasting music via loud speakers within the metro trains to avoid causing a public nuisance.

However, passengers are permitted to listen to music using their personal earphones. Anjum Parvez, the Managing Director of the Metro Rail Corporation, emphasized the inappropriateness of playing loud music within the metro trains, as it can disturb fellow passengers.

Many commuters, including students and employees, utilize their travel time for reading, working on laptops, or engaging in work-related phone conversations. The blaring of loud music undoubtedly causes inconvenience in such situations. Parvez clarified that this decision was made by the authorities to address the issue.

The specific penalties or fines associated with playing loud music in trains or using loudspeakers have not been disclosed by the metro authorities. However, BMRCL is actively raising awareness among passengers regarding the do's and don'ts within the metro trains. Information is being disseminated through visual aids such as pictures and videos.

Prohibited activities include smoking and consuming food inside the metro stations. Passengers are also reminded to adhere to the designated line system while boarding the trains. Moreover, essential safety warnings, such as avoiding opening doors while in motion and keeping hands away from door junctions, are being consistently emphasized.

The BMRCL's initiative seeks to create a more comfortable and pleasant commuting experience for all passengers, encouraging responsible behavior and adherence to established guidelines.
