Citizens still await resumption of ward meetings

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Bengaluru Ward Samiti Balaga, a coalition of citizens dedicated to strengthening ward committees, recently reached out to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) chief Tushar Giri Nath, demanding the resumption of ward committee meetings that came to a halt several months ago.

Last month, the citizens met with the commissioner and submitted a requisition letter addressing the issue.

While speaking to the commissioner and submitting the letter, we were informed that the zonal and joint commissioners of BBMP would receive appropriate instructions, and the meetings would resume soon.

However, we are yet to receive formal information regarding the timeline, stated a member of the Bengaluru Ward Samiti Balaga and a resident of Dodda Bidarakallu in the Raja Rajeshwari Nagara zone.

With the ward committee meetings on hold, citizens are concerned about the accumulation of civic issues in their respective areas.
