'Inclusive budget: A rupee saved, thousands recovered'
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Karnataka Budget for 2023-24 emphasises the importance of inclusive planning and allocation.
The government believes that investing in thoughtful and inclusive planning can prevent the need for spending thousands of rupees later in the aftermath of crises or disasters, according to Dr Bhavana Halanaik, CEO at CPRSA.
This approach acknowledges the value of proactive measures and highlights long-term benefits of addressing issues at their root cause. Dr Halanaik added, "A rupee spent on inclusive planning would save ten rupees spent on recovery and reconstruction, which the current Budget demonstrates. Infrastructure projects must be designed to withstand natural disasters."
