Bengaluru: The battered BJP is planning to undertake a statewide tour after the ongoing budget session of the Legislature as part of its people contact programme ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
An important office-bearer of the state BJP told News Trail that the proposed tour would be worked out after the budget session ends on July 21.
Four to five teams would be formed with each team to be led by a key leader to cover constituencies assigned to them as part of the building of the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the Lok Sabha polls due to be held in April/May next year.
Team members will highlight the performance of the BJP-led NDA government in the last nine years and also try to find out the reasons for the party’s defeat in the May 10 Assembly polls.
They will also try to expose the ‘hollow promises’ made by the incumbent Congress government as far as the poll guarantees are concerned.
The party has prepared a list of leaders to head the teams. They are; Former CMs B.S.Yediyurappa, Basavaraj Bommai, and D.V.Sadananda Gowda, BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel, General Secretary C.T.Ravi, Basangouda Patil Yatnal, R.Ashok, and Dr. Ashwath Narayana.
“We are finalizing details of the tour of state leaders and it will be ready in a week. The tour will be the start of the campaign for the Lok Sabha Polls”, the leader added.
