Adithi Prabhudeva, the young and energetic heroine of Sandalwood, has to shed a few kgs to play the super hero role in Kannada movie Aana, a dark horror movie. For gregarious Adithi, it is for the first time that she will be acting in a horror flick.
“To act in Aana was very challenging. I had to do workouts for hours every day to look slim and physically fit. I did not stop eating whatever I wanted but religiously followed the director’s advice to do workouts,’’ says Adithi with a smile.
The actress said that she, being a vegetarian, had to struggle a lot to act in a few sequences during the shooting of Aana. “There is a scene where I had to eat non-vegetarian food. The director applied red colour to a few loaves of bread to make it look like non-vegetarian food,’’ says Adithi.
She has also expressed concern over the non-availability of sufficient number of single screen theatres for screening her latest movie. “It is quite disappointing to hear that many exhibitors prefer to screen movies in languages other than Kannada. I appeal to people to encourage and support Kannada movies,’’ she says.
Aana is scheduled to hit the silver screen on December 17. The movie is directed by Manoj P Madalumane while Suneel Puranik, Chethan Gandharva, Ranvith Shivkumar, Prerana Kambam, Samarth Narasimharaju are the important star cast. Uday Leela has handled the film’s cinematography while Ritvik Muralidhar has composed the songs and scored the background music.
