Bengaluru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Mukhyamantri Chandru was officially sworn in as the president of the party’s Karnataka unit at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Hal in Bengaluru on Saturday.
On the occasion, he spoke against the debt being incurred by Karnataka under the policies of both Congress and BJP.
“All of us who have voted for the corruption and mismanagement of the Congress and BJP parties that have ruled the country and the state so far have become the children of usury paying millions of crores of interest to borrowers. The nation's debt is 175 lakh crore rupees and the state's debt has reached 5.5 lakh crore and Rs 35 thousand crores have to be paid as interest. In this case, what else can we call ourselves?” Chandru asked.
“Even though the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the state of Delhi is providing free electricity, sustainable water, education, health and transportation to the citizens, it is still able to present a debt-free budget,” he added.
