Schoolgirl ends life, family alleges bullying by teacher

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In yet another tragic incident, a Class 7 student took her own life after she allegedly suffered humiliating bullying by her schoolteacher in Kumbalgodu.

The deceased has been identified as Samiksha, a student of a private school in Kumbalgodu Police Station limits. The incident took place on July 20, a source told News Trail.

The jurisdictional police took up a case of unnatural death and are currently probing to ascertain the circumstances due to which the student was forced to take the extreme step. The family of the deceased have alleged that she was reluctant to go to school over the past month.

When a relative enquired about it with her classmates, it was revealed that she was being scolded, bullied, punished and harassed by her class teacher for “no particular reason”.

When the student's mother decided to speak to the school management about it, the student allegedly stopped her fearing that the harassment might increase.
