Bengaluru: Koramangala Industrial Layout Ward number 67 is located in the heart of Koramangala, one of the most vibrant and happening neighbourhoods in Bengaluru.
The ward is home to a diverse mix of businesses, from small shops and restaurants to large corporate offices. It is also home to a number of residential complexes, making it a popular choice for both families and singles.
The ward is well-connected to the rest of the city by road and public transportation. The Hosur Road, which runs through the ward, is a major arterial road that connects Koramangala to other parts of Bengaluru.
The ward is also served by the Namma Metro, with two stations located within its boundaries. However, the pub culture in Koramangala has also led to some problems, such as noise pollution and public nuisance.
On weekends, especially in the evenings, the streets of Koramangala are filled with people who are out to party. Many of these people are drunk, and they often make a lot of noise.
This noise can be disruptive to residents who are trying to sleep or who are simply trying to go about their daily lives. In addition to noise pollution, the pub culture in Koramangala has also led to public nuisance.
Drunk people often litter the streets, and they sometimes urinate in public. They can also be aggressive and make people feel unsafe. The encroachment of footpaths by shops and vehicles is another problem that residents of Koramangala face.
This makes it difficult for people to walk on the footpaths, and it can also be a safety hazard. The problems caused by the pub culture in Koramangala have led to calls for action from residents. While the resident s stated that there are cops deployed, but residents allege that there are no permanent solutions for these issues.
The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has identified Koramangala as one of the 174 flood-prone areas in Bengaluru. The KSNDMC has also warned that the area is at risk of flooding even with light rains.
Koramangala is a floodprone area in Bengaluru. It is surrounded by lakes such as Agara Lake, Bellandur Lake, and Koramangala Valley.
Although most residential and commercial buildings in the area are constructed on high-raised platforms, most common storm-water drains are not properly maintained and a resident of the area said that the roads are frequently prone to flooding.
One other significant concern is air pollution caused by the presence of industries in the area. This poses health risks, particularly for individuals with respiratory issues. This is because of the increased commercialisation in the area leading to vehicle congestion and traffic.
Another problem in the Koramangala Industrial Layout is noise pollution, primarily due to high traffic and several late-night parties.
There have been several complaints filed by the residents of this area, and one resident alleged that if a complaint is filed, they are quiet for the next couple of days and things go back to normal the third day.
