Suspecting an affair with his wife, man kills cousin

Bengaluru: A man allegedly murdered his cousin after he got suspicious that he was having an affair with his fight. The suspicion stemmed from long hours of talks the two were said to be having.

The deceased was identified as Sandeep Kumar and the incident occurred in Chikkajala Police Station limits on Friday night. After the matter was brought to the notice of the jurisdictional police, an investigation was conducted and the cousin of Kumar, identified as Subodh Mandal, was arrested.

It was revealed that Sandeep and Subodh, hailing from Bihar, had come to Bengaluru in search of work some years ago. Sandeep was living with some friends in a room in Chikkajala.

Three months ago, Subodh came to Bengaluru and used to talk to Sandeep’s wife over the phone for long hours.

On Friday night, the two got into an argument over the issue while drinking. After Sandeep fell asleep, Subodh strangled him and fled from the place.

The murder came to light only after 24 hours when a friend noticed the limp body, and informed the Chikkajala police.
