Sangh man held for recording woman bathing released

Dakshina Kannada: The Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) member who was arrested by Mulki police a couple of days ago for allegedly recording a woman while she was bathing was released on Thursday, it has been learned.
Observers said that the bail was possible only because the local cops, under pressure from Sangh leaders, had filed a “weak” FIR.
He was reportedly released on bail after a relative of his furnished a surety bond worth Rs 50,000 on Thursday.
The news comes in the backdrop of Sangh and BJP going to town on three girls from an Udupi college recording their classmate in the washroom as a prank and then deleting said video.
BJP leaders and workers have been trying to give the incident a communal spin but have been silent on the case from neighbouring Dakshina Kannada district wherein a Sangh man was involved.
The accused is one Sumanth Poojary (22) from Hosakadu village in Pakshikere of Dakshina Kannada district. On Wednesday, around 11 am, he allegedly recorded his neighbour while she was bathing in her bathroom.
She reportedly noticed the mobile camera and raised an alarm. Following this, locals gathered at the scene and nabbed the culprit and handed him over to the police.
Cops said that they found several explicit videos and photos on Sumanth’s mobile phone.
