Bengaluru: With the honeymoon phase of the new government coming to an end, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has decided to take proactive steps to streamline the administration by urging ministers to enhance their performance.

Aware of the impending BBMP and parliamentary polls, Siddaramaiah is determined to ensure efficient governance and fulfill the promises made by the administration.

In pursuit of this goal, the CM is convening meetings involving ministers, district-in-charge ministers, and legislators.

The primary objective of the gatherings is to establish seamless coordination among the party’s rank and file to facilitate smooth governance.

The Chief Minister’s proactive approach extends to a performance review of each minister and district-in-charge minister, a directive reportedly stemming from discussions with former AICC President Rahul Gandhi.

Recognizing the pivotal role that ministers play in shaping the government’s image, Rahul is believed to have emphasized the importance of closely monitoring their activities.

Every minister has been instructed to furnish a monthly performance report to AICC General Secretary and In-Charge of Karnataka Affairs, Randip Singh Surjewala.

These reports provide insights into daily activities such as meetings with officials, interactions with elected representatives, official visits, and time dedicated to addressing citizen and constituency issues.

Later, Siddaramaiah is expected to send a comprehensive report to the high command, incorporating inputs from both MLAs and MLCs.

This approach addresses a historical gap, as the previous BJP government failed to implement regular performance reviews, which ultimately contributed to its electoral defeat in the Assembly polls.
