Residents take matters into own hands after BBMP fails to cover manhole

Bengaluru: A manhole in the middle of HN Halli Lake Road in Bengaluru was causing a serious safety hazard for hundreds of pedestrians, bikers and vehicles.

After several requests to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to fix the issue went unanswered, residents took matters into their own hands and fixed it themselves.

The residents had complained to the BBMP about the manhole cover for months, but no action was taken.

In the end, the residents decided to fix the manhole cover themselves. On X (formerly Twitter), @TheLakeRoadGuys stated, “Manhole by BWSSB in the middle of HN Halli Lake Road causing serious safety issues to hundreds of walkers, bikers, vehicles. No one bothered to fix it after many requests over many months. Finally fixed by residents. Now do residents have to build roads too? @ osd_cmkarnataka @BBMPCares.”
