Begin plant operations, BBMP south commissioner tells officials

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) South Zone Commissioner Jayaram Rayapura on Friday visited the leachate waste treatment plant that has been set up in Chikkanagamangala village in Anekal taluk of Bengaluru Urban district, asking officials that the facility gets the necessary approvals before it can start running in an official capacity.

Rayapura pointed out that although the plant was fully functional, permission including one from Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) was necessary before it could start operations.

A leachate is a liquid that passes through solid matter and extracts particles harmful to the environment and renders the latter suitable to be released.
