Bengaluru: Electric scooters were once considered nonsturdy, but not anymore. For many people, especially Gen Zs, lightweight scooters have become the go-to vehicle and are easy to ride.

A group of students from Presidency University unveiled a Rooster scooter, a new era in urban commuting, during a press conference at the Bengaluru Press Club on Friday.

"The idea of launching these scooters is to ease the ways to navigate in big campuses and get a person from point A to point B without getting late to the classes," said Samrudh Yash, one of the students from Presidency University who came up with the idea of the designing a Rooster scooter.

"These mobile scooters can be used at tech parks and campuses for daily commuting by choosing tap and pay systems," Yash added.

The talented students have started a research services firm, Vikasana, which aims to take the University to Greater Heights in the Field of Research and Innovation.

The students further thanked the Vice President of the University, Salman Ahmed, for supporting them and keeping them motivated in their endeavours.
