Bengaluru: Back in 1986, three years after their round-robin World Cup win, news of Kapil Dev and the Indian team being in Bengaluru reached the Sandalwood star Kichcha Sudeep. “I managed to reach him and requested a photo but it wasn’t my lucky day – my camera wasn’t working!” Now, Sudeep is all set to present the Kannada version of Kabir Khan’s ’83 here in Bengaluru. As they posed together for a photograph, Sudeep said, “The picture I waited to take for over 36 years happened today. Thank you Kapil sir for making it happen. Epitome of humility.”

Kiccha Sudeep is all set to present the Kannada version of the much-awaited Hindi sports film. The film will be a Shalini Arts and Reliance Entertainment release, and is all set to hit screens on December 24. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film sees Ranveer Singh stepping into the shoes of world-famous cricketer Kapil Dev, and traces the triumphant journey of the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian team.
