Bengaluru: The BJP leaders Sadananda Gowda, KS Eshwarappa, and Pramod Mutalik, a right-wing leader, allegedly made stinging remarks against actor and activist Prakash Raj slamming his opinion about Sanatana Dharma.

Raj said he was born to his parents and not to Sanatana Dharma, at an event in Bengaluru on September 5.

His comments came following the row triggered by the remarks of Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who said Sanatana Dharma is like a mosquito and dengue that should be eradicated as it is against social justice.

Reacting to Prakash Raj’s statement, former Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda, told reporters in Bengaluru that Raj was an actor and not interested in knowing his origins.

“He is good at acting but not good enough to know about his and his elders’ origins”, he said.

K S Eshwarappa, another senior BJP leader, hit out at the wellknown actor saying that , “Prakash Raj should confirm if he is born to his parents as he claimed. People call him mad and useless b u t he never takes anything seriously”.

Pramod Mutalik warned that Raj must stop intervening in every controversy. He said in Gadag that “I appreciate Raj for his acting but he must stop poking his nose in controversies. His father was born in Sanatana Dharma, and so was he”.
