Release pending funds to state, AAP tells PM

Bengaluru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president Mukhyamantri Chandru on Wednesday penned an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the release of pending funds of 61 projects in Karnataka that were awarded by the Centre.

Chandru asked Modi if the BJP national president JP Nadda’s asking the people of Karnataka to not lose the PM’s blessings back in April relevant to the non-release of funds.

He also blamed “hate politics” between the saffron party and Congress for the issue, adding that AAP would launch protests if the funds weren’t released.

“What does it mean that a single paise has not been released even after the month of August has passed for 61 projects being implemented by a total of 23 different departments? Is this injustice being done because the BJP is not in power in the state? Why should Karnataka, which has given 25 MPs, be despised in the matter of grants? Isn't Karnataka in India?” Chandru asked Modi, pointing out schemes like the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and pensions, among others, were hit. “

The Central government should immediately release the grant that should be fairly given to the state, leaving aside the politics of hate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself should take responsibility and release the grant,” Chandru added.
