NEET PG 2023 cut-off percentile reduced to zero

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that the NEET PG 2023 cut-off percentile has been reduced to zero.

This means that all eligible candidates will be allowed to participate in the counselling process, regardless of their score in the exam.

This decision was made after the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) received requests from several doctors' associations to reduce the cut-off percentile.

The associations had argued that the high cut-off percentile was depriving many deserving candidates from pursuing postgraduate medical education.

"... the qualifying percentile for PG Courses (Medical/ Dental) for NEET PG Counselling 2023 has been reduced to ‘ZERO’ across all categories by MoHFW," the official notice reads.

"A fresh schedule for Round 3 onwards for PG Counselling will be put up on the MCC website soon. Candidates are advised to be in touch with the MCC website for further updates," the notice says.

While many in the medical community have welcomed the decision to reduce the cut-off percentile, some doctors have expressed concerns that it may lead to a decline in the quality of postgraduate medical education.

They argue that the high cut-off percentile was in place to ensure that only the best and brightest students are able to pursue postgraduate medical education.
