Devadurga MLA will stay in party: Deve Gowda
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda on Wednesday tried to downplay reports of rebellion among the lawmakers of the party, claiming that Devadurga MLA Karemma had called him over the phone and reiterated her commitment to the regional outfit.
A few days ago, JD(S) MLA Karemma had told mediapersons that “there would be no alliance” between the BJP and JD(S) in her constituency, which falls under Raichur district, citing alleged hooliganism and violence against her and her supporters.
However, she said that she would stay on in the party. “ Devadurga MLA Karemma Nayak called me over the phone on Tuesday.
She told me that nothing would be able to make her part ways with Kumaraswamy and me. So long as we both live, she’ll stay with us,” Deve Gowda, adding that there had been people trying to create confusion but would fail.
