Bengaluru: The Yellow line of Namma Metro, which runs from RV Road to Bommasandra via electronic city will soon welcome its first rolling stock, Titagarh Rail Systems announced The first pair of metro trains will depart from the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation(CRRC) on October 18, and will arrive here in a month.
In addition, Car bodies manufactured by CRRC are on their way to Titagarh's production facility.
"Once the two car bodies from CRRC reach our production facility, we will commence work on them and supply the trains to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) by February 2024," said the official.
Confusion regarding the specification of the prototype was the reason for delay, according to the official. The Yellow Line will miss its end-of-the-year deadline, as 95% of civil works in 15 of 16 stations is complete.
If operations on this line commences, residents from Jayanagar, BTM Layout, HSR Layout, as well as workers from Electronic City will be the beneficiaries.
Daily ridership on this line is expected to be around 2.5 lakh passengers, easing burden on Traffic in Junctions like Silk Board.
