Woman found dead, parents accuse husband of harassment

Bengaluru: A 24-year-old woman was found dead at her husband's house in Yelahanka on Wednesday night.

The jurisdictional police identified the deceased as Rekha, who was married to Santosh Kumar two years ago. It was learnt that the couple hailed from Tamil Nadu and had shifted to Bengaluru after Kumar started working at a welding shop in Yelahanka.

The couple have an eight-month old son. Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple were often found arguing over petty issues. It was later alleged that Kumar had been demanding a piece of land from Rekha's parents due to which Rekha was depressed.

On Wednesday, when Kumar returned from his work, he found his wife hanging from the ceiling using a saree.

The parents of the woman have filed a complaint against Kumar alleging harrassment and abetment to suicide.
