Former BJP MLA to join Congress

Bengaluru: Congress has disclosed that former BJP MLA from Hiriyur Poornima Krishnappa would be joining the party in the coming days.

The former lawmaker would join the Congress officially on October 20, presumably at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office in Bengaluru.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning, CM’s political secretary K Govindaraju, among other Congress leaders informally welcomed her into the party fold.

Poornima started her political innings as a Congresswoman and even became a BBMP corporator in Bengaluru.
