Bengaluru: The "Brand Bengaluru Conference," a project undertaken by the Karnataka Government, unfolded here on Monday at Jnana Jyoti Auditorium, Central College campus.

The conference was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The event featured an exhibition that featured contributions from BBMP's Health Department, Solid Waste Management, Bangalore Smart City Limited, BMRCL, BWSSB, Bangalore Development Authority, DULT, and BMTC.

After a welcome note by the BBMP Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath, Brand Bengaluru was unveiled by senior ministers and officials, along with a couple of senior citizens from the audience, who watered a plant as a symbol for the first step towards a green city.

Minister of Transport Ramalinga Reddy spoke about the Brand Bengaluru project and how it will shape the future of the city. He said the project will make the city sustainable and a global city.

Shivakumar addressed the gathering and briefed the project’s special features and how it will make Bengaluru a better place.

He said, "I am a businessman by profession, an educationalist by passion, and a politician by choice. And this project is my passion project to make the city selfsustainable and green."

He addressed the major concerns of the people in the city such as traffic congestion, water scarcity, air pollution, energy wastage and so on, and assured that Brand Bengaluru aims to solve all these issues as soon as possible.

He said, "Brand Bengaluru is not the city project, it is the people's project. It is the voice of the people, and every detail of the project will be transparent."

The heart of the conference was the focused dialogue on eight different topics, each corresponding to a vital aspect of the "Brand Bengaluru" concept.

These topics included "Smooth Traffic Bengaluru," "Green Bengaluru," "Swachh Bengaluru," "People-Friendly Bengaluru," "Healthy Bengaluru," "Tech Bengaluru," "Water-Safe Bengaluru," and "Educational Bengaluru."

Educational partners received recognition, and subject matter experts contributed valuable insights to these topics in a board meeting after the conference, with their reports to be reviewed by Bengaluru Vishwa Vidyalaya before final submission to the government.

During the conference, Shivakumar led discussions on enhancing the city's traffic system with retired government officials. The event also featured historical insights into Bengaluru's evolution under Nadaprabhu Kempegowda's leadership.
