Mahisha Dasara Celebrated amidst tight security in Mysuru
Mysuru, NT Bureau: Mysuru witnessed the grand celebration of Mahisha Dasara at the Town Hall premises, with more than 7,000 participants, under the watchful eye of tight police security.
The event was organised by members of the Mahisha Dasara Acharana Samithi and Dalit groups from various parts of the state, fostering unity and harmony.
The festivities commenced around 11:30 am, extending beyond 1 pm. During the celebration, Purushottam, the President of the Mahisha Dasara Celebration Committee and former mayor, offered a garland for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's statue.
He emphasised that the celebrations aimed to respect and honour traditions without causing offence to anyone. For security reasons, the police allowed the celebration exclusively within the Town Hall premises without permitting any processions or bike rallies.
To maintain public order, Section 144 was enforced across the city, and organisers were cautioned against making any provocative statements.
