Bengaluru's bank to be shut on Dussehra, as per RBI norm

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: As per the holiday schedule released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the majority of private and public sector institutions in Bengaluru are scheduled to remain shut on October 24, in observance of Dussehra/Durga Puja/Vijaya Dashmi, the RBI said in a notification.

Dussehra is a major Hindu festival celebrated every year at the end of Navaratri. On this day every year, schools, financial institutions, as well as private and government organizations observe a holiday closure.

As stated in the RBI's schedule, cities such as Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, and numerous others, including Bengaluru, will have non-operational banks on Dussehra.

However, individuals will still be able to conduct online transactions, make payments, and check their balances without any interruption in banking services.
