IISc Bangalore tops in 4 subjects in Times Higher Education World Varsity Rankings

Bengaluru: The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, released today, have named the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore as the leading institution in the country.

IISc secured the top position in four subjects: Physical Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, and Life Science.

However, on a global scale, Stanford University and Harvard University have dominated most subjects.

IISc achieved a 201–250 ranking in Physical Sciences, 101-125 ranking in Engineering, 101- 125 ranking in Computer Science, and 201-250 ranking in Life Sciences.

In the Engineering category, Indian universities include Anna University (301-400), Jamia Millia Islamia, Lovely Professional University, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, Siksha 'O' Anusandhan Deemed to be University (401-500).

Aligarh Muslim University, IIT Guwahati, IIIT Hyderabad, Jaypee University of Information Technology, KIIT University, and more (501-600). Others (601-800) include Amity University, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, BITS Pilani, DTU, IIT Dhanbad, and IIT Patna, among others.
