Implement Sadashiva Commission report, urge Dalit activists

Bengaluru: More than 500 Dalit activists from various districts gathered at Freedom Park on Tuesday, demanding the immediate implementation of the AJ Sadashiva Commission report.
The protestors fervently urge the incorporation of Justice A.J. Sadashiva's comprehensive report during the upcoming sessions. Established in 2005, the Sadashiva Commission was tasked with assessing methods for the fair distribution of reservation facilities among Scheduled Castes (SCs) and had put forth recommendations for internal reservation.
Among its key proposals was the reclassification of all SCs into four distinct groups—namely, the Right Community, Left Community, Touchables, and Other Scheduled Castes—to ensure an equitable allocation of overall reservation benefits.
The panel diligently submitted its report in 2012 to the then Chief Minister, DV Sadananda Gowda. Despite the passage of many years, the implementation of the Sadashiva Commission report remains pending.
The protestors demand that greater grants to Scheduled Caste Corporations, appointed by the Government, should ensure caste-wise and regional-wise representation of Sadashiva's report in the session, and actions on it should be taken as early as possible.
